I am planting for my late Dad, William Masterton Carlyle.

My father, from Winnipeg, was with the Royal Canadian Artillery. He left my Mother and two little children to sail from Halifax, Nova Scotia, to the northwest part of Scotland and then south to England. He was gone from February 1941 to August 1945, surviving WWII, thank God. He was a captain when he left and an major when he returned. He thought of remaining in the army as a career, but instead returned to work as a chartered accountant.
