CDN personnel who have served in NL past and present

As a Canadian teacher, I worked at AFNORTH international school in Brunssum the Netherlands. The school serves dependents of Canadian military personnel on NATO duty. Each year on or about November 1st the Dutch hold the Knokke-Heist Liberation March. This 30 km March commemorates the landing of Canadian troops on the beaches of Hofdplaat, NL in November 1944 which eventually led to the liberation of the Scheldt estuary. I have participated in the march several times since 1998 as as a civilian. Each time, I am overwhelmed by the efforts of the Dutch and Belgian people to remember the efforts of Canadians to liberate their country. Attached is the article that I wrote about the experience in November 2000 for the NATO magazine
