Nova Scotian who created tulip project marking Canadian contribution to Netherlands’ liberation wants to bring sculpture home

LaHave, N.S.-based artist Merydie Fjarlie is hoping to bring a metre-high tulip sculpture back from the Netherlands’ royal family for the 2022 Canadian Tulip Festival in Ottawa.

The sculpture, affectionately known as the Bouquet of Remembrance and Celebration, was originally created by Fjarlie, who then lived near Ottawa, and a group of embroidery artists who called themselves the Studio Inspirations.
