Uncle Ronnie served from 1939 until 1946 in the RCA 3RD Field Regiment 77TH Battery Overseas – United Kingdom, Sicily, Italy, Germany, ending the war in Holland.The book “From Pachino to Ortona” details one journey. 75 years ago this past Christmas he spent Christmas eve, day and boxing day on the roof of a building in Ortona while the Nazies held the town square below. Last page EVERYTHING BEFORE ORTONA said the Divisional Commander reflectively WAS A NURSERY TALE. His Daughter retraced the steps this spring and saw the building! Such brave men!
