I am planting for my uncle, Lawrence Bridges.

Lawrence Bridges served wth the Royal Canadian Artillery Division: 2nd Anti-Tank Regiment. He enlisted in 1940 and was injured in the Battle of the Scheldt and died on October 10th, 1944.
He had emigrated from England to Canada as a young man and married my aunt in 1936. My aunt was so devastated by his death that she never remarried. They had no children. She felt so fortunate that in her later life she was able to visit his grave at Bergen op Zoom, Holland. She was very grateful to the people of the Netherlands who showed her great kindness in her loss and appreciated the sacrifice her husband had given.
