I am planting for my parents, Forbes and Jean Colgate

RCAF Lt Forbes Colgate, DVM, DVPH, was posted to an RCAF base in 1943, where he met RCAF Nursing Sister Jean Martyn, RN. They married at Easter 1944 and went on post-war to have excellent careers in Veterinary Medicine and Obstetrical Nursing, as well as raising six children. Forbes died due to post-surgery exposure to C Difficile at Easter 2006 at the age of 94, and Jean was in her 100th year when she died in the Fall of 2017. Mum loved tulips and had over 1,000 blooms every Spring in many gardens throughout their rural property. Though she tried to cut back by giving bulbs away, she never got ahead of the rate at which they multiplied. These Liberation 75 tulips will go into a new front garden, along with a saved portion of their cremains, and some of the bulbs brought to the West coast from their Ontario home.
