I am planting for Lt. William Edward O’Donnell on behalf of Lt. (Ret’d) Wolf Wm Solkin

Lieutenants William Edward O’Donnell and Wolf William Solkin of the Algonquin Regiment, R.C.I.C., helped liberate Holland in 1945. My dear friend, Lt. (Ret’d) Wolf Wm Solkin is in his 97th year and resides at Ste. Anne’s Hospital in Quebec. As Wolf no longer has a garden to tend to, I will be planting these Royal Gifts to honour Wolf and his best friend, who died under tragic circumstances while liberating Holland, 18 April 1945, with only 17 days left before Liberation Day. Lt. William Edward O’Donnell is buried in Holten Canadian War Cemetery. Attached is an image of the original photograph of William O’Donnell that Wolf has carried with him wherever he lives.
