I am planting for George Albert Ellsworth

My father George Albert Ellsworth landed with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders on Juno Beach June 06, 1944. Conditions were very difficult but the regiment persevered and achieved its objective on that day. After years of training in the British Isles and lochs in northern Scotland the NNSH soldiers quickly became experienced in battle. Many campaigns were long but battles won and the troops continued north. On September 17, George Albert Ellsworth was severely wounded in the Battle of Boulogne and sent to recover in a British hospital eventually returning to Canada where he played an active role in the Royal Canadian Legion.
