Harold Porkka

Harold Porkka was from Picture Butte Alberta. He enlisted in 1940 and became a member of the Army Signal Corps. He remained in the Netherlands after World War II for over a year to help rebuild the communications network. When he returned to Canada he continued to work in radio and pioneered television repair, opening a TV and radio sales and repair business in Red Deer Alberta in 1957. Harold passed away at the age of 92 in 2012 in Red Deer.
