Dad served with the 12th Field Regiment RCA, landing at Juno and fighting with the 3rd Canadian Division through Europe. He was a Lieutenant and was a GPO (Gun Position Officer) and was WIA in Belgium before returning to his Regiment. This past May my wife and I honoured his memory by going to Europe and finding the grave sites of all 43 soldiers his Regiment lost in Europe covering 7 different War Cemeteries and planting a flag at each of their burial sites.
