My father served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a signalman serving both in Eurpore and the Aleutian Islands. He spent most of his European service in Holland, based in Nijmegen and Apeldoorn. He was so proud of serving in Holland and was especially proud of the medal he received from the Dutch government, I think it was sent to him in the 1980’s or 90’s. Unfortunately he never never had the opportunity to go back to Holland after the war but he shared many memories of that time with me (his daughter). The photo I have included is of him with his motor bike that he loved.
