Cpl. Bronislaw Gabrek of the 1st Polish Armoured Division (PAD). My Father escaoed Poland in September, 1929 with General Maczek who lead the Poles through WWII.

My Father made his way across Europe to join the Polish Army in Exile. He went to Britain where he stayed for several years preparing for their return to Europe and in his mind the freeing of Poland. We all know how sadly that turned out. My Father was a bike messenger and a supply truck driver so was often on the road unescorted. He was with the 1st Polish Armoured Division who were instrumental in the closing of the Fallaise Gap. His regiment was also instrumental in the liberation of Breda in Holland.
