Closing Ceremonies

Join us for the moving closing ceremony of the 71st Canadian Tulip Festival.

Gather at HMCS Carleton by Dow’s Lake at 9:45 pm on May 22nd, 2023. Here we will light the Canadian Remembrance Torch. A symbol to commemorate the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the fight for freedom and to remember why that freedom is worth fighting for.

Guests are encouraged to use their cellphones to represent the light of individual candles.

We will walk together from HMCS Carleton to the Man With Two Hats statue and there we will extinguish the flame.

The ceremony will last approximately 15 minutes and is FREE for all who care to join. With your participation we can make this ceremony a fitting tribute and a beautiful way to end our 2023 celebrations.

All good things must come to an end…at least until next year, when the Canadian Remembrance Torch returns!
