Dad was a soldier in the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry. He was in the Netherlands during their liberation. Mom and Dad were able to attend the 50th anniversary and stayed with a family in Niverdal.They became good friends and their hosts came to Canada for a visit. Dad never spoke much about the war but seeing the Netherlands rebuilt and prospering gave him peace.
