As part of our virtual festival, six narrative maps, focusing on Dutch cities, were created to provide a brief history of the unique Canada-Dutch relationship. Explore Dutch culture and discover the unique history that forged the link between Canada and the Netherlands during the Second World War.
Click on the button below each city to learn more about its journey to liberation. Scroll down through the text and photos on the right side of the map to learn more.
The Canadian Research and Mapping Association is a not for profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Canada’s military history. For two and half years the CRMA has been mapping the story of the Canadian Army for the exciting Project ’44 web map, and has been working with partners across Canada to tell engaging stories through online story maps.
