In the spirit of highlighting and celebrating the Capital’s vibrant tulip culture, the Canadian Tulip Festival created a ‘Tulip Awards’ program. These awards acknowledge local organisations that contribute to and enhance the Capital’s tulip experience during the Festival.
2018 Submission Guidelines
Candidates may be nominated by another party or they may self-nominate.
Please submit high quality photographs and a brief (200 word) description of the Tulip initiative along with commentary as to how the initiative enhanced the Capital tulip experience leading up to and during the festival dates (May 11-21 , 2018). DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS AUGUST 15, 2018.
Tulip Award Assessment Values
In nominating candidates and during selection of the recipients the following values will be the basis of assessment:
- Contribution to the destination’s tulip experience
- Quality of the Tulip Experience offered to the public
- Integration and connection to the community
- Level of innovation
- Level of public and/or media recognition
The Tulip Awards recipients are selected by the Festival’s marketing team.
Tulip Award recipients will be honoured during the Tulip Award Ceremony taking place during the Annual Tulip Soirée.
The Canadian Tulip Festival will issue a Media Release on the day of the Tulip Soiree & Award Ceremony announcing the recipients of the Tulip Awards. Recipients will also be provided with a release template that can be customized for distribution and/ or publication on their own letterhead.
Award recipients will be featured on the Festival website for a full year.
