Schools

Elementary Schools are invited to participate in our NEW School Tulip Education Program.

Tulip gardens comprising 50 bulbs are being gifted to local schools.

The Canadian Tulip Festival is pleased to offer schools in the National Capital Region an opportunity to plant a special tulip garden as part of  the school tulip educational initiative.
Students will learn about planting and growing tulip bulbs as well as finding out the history of the tulip as a symbol of world friendship and peace and the history of the Canadian Tulip Festival which commemorates the historic Royal gift of tulips  from the Dutch to Canadians as a symbol of international friendship and preserves the legacy of the liberation of Europe by Canadian troops and the birth of Dutch Princess Margriet in Ottawa during World War II—the only royal personage ever born in North America – paying tribute to our Canadian veterans and servicemen.

Students from schools taking part in the initiative will also have the opportunity to to  do tulip arts & craft projects and review workbook resources
